Bletchley Park

Absolutely fascinating place to visit if you have any interest in code-breaking, computers or World War II. The story of how the Enigma code was broken is absorbing and there is hardware galore to drool over if you like that sort of thing. |more days out|

Bletchley Park.

There's a working reproduction of the Turing-designed Bombe - the machine used to help decrypt Enigma messages. The original WWII huts tell the story of the codebreakers and the methods they used. The Colossus is now housed in the National Museum of Computing. This is also on the Bletchley site but is a separate attraction with its own (modest) entrance fee. But it's a must-see. |map| |next attraction|
